All-Ireland Schools Championships

Thursday 10th April
Tramore Valley Park, Co. cork

Welcome!

Cork Schools Orienteering Association (C.S.O.A.) has been running since the early eighties and now caters to all affiliated primary and post-primary schools in Co. Cork. We aim to promote awareness, enjoyment, fitness and competition in this sport, along with encouraging the participating pupils to enjoy, appreciate and respect the great outdoors of hills, sand dunes, woods and forests.

Each year we have introductory/coaching days, two league events and a county championship. Schools can also participate in Munster and All-Ireland Championships. All schools are welcome, both primary and secondary, boys and girls; help and coaching will be provided to all who those need it.
If you would like to involve your school in this fantastic sport for children of all ages, then please use the contact details tab above and feel free to try out an event.

In Memoriam: Ted Lucey

The Cork Schools Orienteering Association mourns the passing of Ted Lucey, a stalwart of our community and a driving force behind schools orienteering in Cork. Since joining the association in the late 1980s, Ted dedicated himself to promoting the sport among young people, tirelessly mapping school grounds and fostering a love of orienteering across generations. He was instrumental in planning and organising events, ensuring countless students had the opportunity to experience and enjoy the sport. His vision and commitment led to the founding of our primary schools section, opening the sport to younger participants and leaving a lasting legacy. His loss is deeply felt, but his contributions will continue to inspire and shape schools orienteering in Cork into the future.
